We are moving to an intiative based structure, so each student has atleast 1 outreach initiative they are working on that they feel passionate about, and some students are even working together on an initiative! For example one of the initiatives is a student is working on is doing robotics demonstrations in a library in Mobile, AL which is about 5 hours away from where our team is based.
We are shooting for going to 2 qualifiers, November 1st and December 13th, then going to the Alabama State Championship on February 28th.
We use GitHub Projects to keep on track of what everyone is working on or needs to be working on. When we get closer to compeitions we will collect data about what roles students want to do and work to make sure everyone gets a chance in every role atleast once before State.
We start by setting our goals for the robot, then we consider every way to score and every possible strategy before doing a cost-benefit analysis to determine the tasks with the best points/second ratio. We then make a priority list based on that, and then start prototyping based on that list.
